Feature questions, answered
A quick guide to how Alarmate's alarms, countdowns, widgets, Siri support, and Apple Watch controls work together.
How many different ways can I set an alarm in Alarmate?
Five. You can set alarms by calendar event, by future date, from an Apple Reminder, as a timer, or as a recurring schedule. They all live together in one timeline view, so you manage your whole day in a single place instead of juggling separate apps.
Can I create alarms by voice with Siri?
Yes. Alongside the five alarm types, you can create alarms hands-free with Siri. Start the phrase with "Alarmate" so Siri picks the right app - for example "Alarmate, create a date alarm," "Alarmate, create a recurring alarm," or "Alarmate, set a timer." You can also drop alarm creation into your Shortcuts automations, like a morning or travel routine.
What are Alarmate's standout features?
Alarmate's standout features are date alarms, calendar alarms, and Lock Screen countdowns. Date alarms help with future deadlines and appointments, calendar alarms help you stay on time for events, and Lock Screen countdowns keep the next important moment visible.
How can Alarmate help me not to be late?
Alarmate helps you set real alarms before meetings, appointments, flights, calls, and deadlines. You can add alarms from calendar events, see countdowns on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island, and check your timeline to know what is coming next.
Does Alarmate set alarms from my calendar automatically?
No, and that's by design. You choose which events become alarms. Alarmate shows your Apple Calendar events for any day, and you tap the ones you want to turn into ringing alarms, picking the lead time for each. Nothing rings without your say-so.
What does a timer with a delayed start actually mean?
You create the timer now, but it doesn't begin until a time you choose. For example, set a 2-hour packing timer today and have it activate automatically the morning of your flight. Your Lock Screen stays clear until the timer is actually relevant.
Will the vibration-only alarm still ring until I stop it?
Yes. Vibration-only changes how the alarm alerts you, not how persistent it is. It keeps vibrating until you acknowledge it, so you get an unmissable alert without sound. You can set it per alarm or make vibration the default for all of them.
When does the Lock Screen countdown appear?
You decide. Each alarm has a trigger window you can set anywhere from a few minutes to hours before it fires. A meeting alarm can show its countdown only minutes ahead, while a flight alarm can start counting down hours in advance. You set the window once and Alarmate handles the timing.
Can I customize how each Alarmate alarm works?
Yes. You can rename alarms, adjust snooze settings, use vibration-only alerts, choose your alarm sound, and control when Live Activity countdowns appear - separately for date alarms, recurring alarms, and timers.
Does Alarmate really ring in Silent mode and Do Not Disturb?
Yes. Alarms ring through Silent mode, Focus, Do Not Disturb, Sleep, and Airplane mode, and they work offline with no internet needed. The only requirement is that your phone is powered on.
What happens when I skip a recurring alarm?
You skip only the next single ring. The rest of the recurring schedule stays exactly as set, so the alarm returns at its normal time the following day. It's for the mornings you wake up early and don't need that one alert.
Which Alarmate features are useful during meetings or work?
For workdays, Alarmate can turn calendar events into alarms, show countdowns before meetings, ring through Silent or Focus mode, and let you stop or snooze from Apple Watch.
How does Alarmate help me see what is coming next?
Alarmate's timeline shows your alarms in chronological order, including date alarms, calendar alarms, reminder alarms, timers, and recurring alarms. It gives you one place to scan your day instead of managing things across separate apps.
Can I stop or snooze an alarm without picking up my phone?
Yes. When an alarm rings on Apple Watch, you can stop or snooze it from your wrist with no setup. You can also stop an alarm directly from the Live Activity on your Lock Screen without unlocking your phone.
Can I create or edit alarms on my Apple Watch?
The watch mirrors your alarms so they ring there and you can stop or snooze from your wrist, but alarms are created and edited on your iPhone or iPad. No setup is needed on the watch itself.
What iPhone and Apple features does Alarmate support?
Alarmate works with Apple Calendar, Apple Reminders, Siri, Shortcuts, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Lock Screen widgets, Home Screen widgets, Control Center, StandBy, iPad, Apple Watch, and CarPlay.
What are alarm templates and can I make my own?
Templates are pre-built starting points for common situations like a morning routine, focus session, medication reminder, meeting, break, or travel prep, which you can customize in seconds. On top of the built-in ones, any past alarm becomes a reusable template automatically, so your own setups are easy to relaunch.
Will running lots of alarms drain my battery?
No. Alarmate is built on the latest iOS technology for efficient background performance, so even with multiple alarms and Lock Screen countdowns running, it does not noticeably affect battery. There are also no ads, ever.
Is everything on this page free?
All the features here are free to use. The only thing Alarmate Pro changes is how many alarms you can run at once: the free plan keeps up to 3 active alarms at a time, and Pro makes that unlimited. No features are locked behind Pro.
